Actually, it does make you lose body heat. The blood vessels close to your skin dilates,(widens) allowing more blood going to your skin, thus losing body heat. You feel hotter because the nerves close to your skin, (The ones that feels the heat) still felt heat, so it assumes that you're actually hot while you are losing your heat.
