You don't really have to go to college to be considered an artist, however, going to college allows you to understand the concept and also learn more about sketching, figures, materials, etc. If you want to become a serious artist, I would recommend going to college for extra experience, but back to the original question, no, you don't have to go to college to be a sketch artist.

" And if this is the case, then there would be NO tattoo artists, or very few. Ever wonder how there are Tattoo Artists that are 20 years old? Doesn't make sense with the above statement. A tattoo artist goes through a formal apprenticeship, that can vary between 1-8 years depending on the shop and the area.
