Gender roles are the roles that a culture expects people of a certain gender to take on. For example, for centuries, women were expected to stay at home to cook, clean, and have babies. Now our culture has changed so that women are expected to be providers for their family nearly as much as men. If you look at men in the 1700s, makeup was commonly worn on both men and women of nobility. It symbolized wealth and education in this culture.
Sexuality is based on what turns people on sexually. There are extremely masculine homosexuals as well as those that are very feminine. While an abundance of feminine traits often are found in some homosexuals, there are exceptions, so the only real way to determine if someone is gay is to ask them.
