They stick a hole through your belly button and put some kind of ring in the newly created hole. Does that tell you anything?

In the hands of a professional body piercer in a licensed and inspected facility the act of navel piercing is clean simple and next to painless. You are asking someone to preform a piercing on you, it stands to reason that there will be some discomfort but it's not an earth shattering experience except for the odd drama queen who can't relax.

It depends greatly on your mind set and how you want to approach getting the piercing done. If you find an experienced professional body piercer who makes the whole procedure fun and enjoyable, then there is nothing to it. If you wind up with a novice and nervous piercer then that could be another story all together.

Research your choice of studios and find the one where you feel most comfortable and the piercer really does spend the time and effort to make the piercing a fun and exciting experience. Do this and you won't be let down nor shall you have an earth shattering experience.

i have my belly button pierced and all i felt was a little pinch. its over and done with in a second anyway, it just feels like a needle. So i wouldn't worry about the pain or anything, just enjoy that you ca have something really pretty on your body now!! :P

It all depends if you have a friend do it i WILL hurt i learned that from experience so the best advise i get profesional it may cost like $30 or more but its worth it. Personally i wished i had it done professionally but im just happy its pierced XD
It depends on how high your pain thresh hold is, for me I barely flinched, it stings for a few seconds whilst the needle goes through but it's totally worth it!
