SOME pellet guns have enough energy to hunt small game, and could kill a cat. But if you get caught shooting Fluffy, the neighbor's pet, you may be facing legal charges of animal cruelty. Along with a very large bill from Fluffy's vet.

In the UK, it is ONLY legal to shoot VERMIN with any gun, unless you are HUNTING GAME, as in Quail, Pheasant, Deer etc.

If you want to HUNT with an air rifle, you are limited to the VERMIN you can kill, such as rat, mouse or feral birds that are creating a problem on your land. If you wish to HUNT, then you can probably KILL pigeon, rabbit or small game with your airgun. If you want to kill your neighbours pet, then you would be better off getting a life and carefully aiming your air weapon at your big toe. Fire on your on toe and then, after bleeding profusely, think about the pain you are intent on inflicting on innocent creature.
