Hi, you don't put your age in but I have had this happen to me as well.

I can be finished a full cycle period then within one week start spotting and the spotting never really turning into a full period will last until my period starts again and can go on for about 45 to 60 days.

The results I have found for myself have all been stress related. This is the way that my body has reacted to stress. Some have found that if you are on Birth Control pills that the strength you have now is no longer strong enough for you and can cause spotting and what seems to be a period right after you have had a period.

I think though if you find that it is heavy and you just finished a regular cycle you should definitely visit your doctor for tests.

Is spotting also your period?

You sometimes start spotting right before the period actually starts, so I don't think it is really your period, only an indication that your period is about to start. Also, if your periods are very irregular, you may only have spotting some months.

Will you skip a period on implanon?

My last shot was in February for birth control my period came on the last days of June I had no period the whole month of July and then my period came on August the 16th what does that mean?

Irregular periods are often perfectly normal, but not always. If you have not been using another form of birth control, and you have been sexually active, it is wise to have a pregnancy test. Spotting similar to a period can happen in pregnancy. Did you have regular periods before going on the shot? If so, your period will usually normalize after a while. See a physician to be certain of the cause of your irregular periods.
