Johto PokemonAfter you beat the Elite Four and obtain the National Pokedex, a new part of eastern Safari Zone opens, where you can catch Johto Pokemon. On land, common wild Johto Pokemon are Aipom, Ledyba, Mareep, Spinarak, Sunkern, and Teddiursa. The uncommon ones are Hoothoot and Snubbull. The rare ones are Gligar, Houndour, Miltank, Pineco, and Stantler. Shuckle are uncommon in the rocks that you can Rock Smash. In bodies of water, Marrill and Wooper are common by Surfing. However, Quagsire are rare for Surfing. Goldeen and Remoraid are common using the Super Rod. Octillery are rare with the Super Rod.

To get a certain tree for a Pokemon and Smeargle, go to southeastern Battle Frontier with Pokemon that can use Surf (, maybe Waterfall, and Rock Smash (just in case)). If you have the Wailmer Pail, water that dancing tree that blocks your path. After battling and catching that thing, continue on to Artisan Cave, where only Smeargle appear. At the end of the cave, an exit leads to the northern part of Battle Frontier.

Also, if you catch all 202 Pokemon fn Hoenn, visit Prof. Birch and choose one of the Johto starters (Chikorita, Totodile, or Cyndaquil.)
