not true. as shiny gold is a ROM for your computer, you cannot trade. however zel added new things to the game so that it is possible to evolve a certain Pokemon without trading. im not sure but i think that level is 40

Kadabra will only evolve when it's traded to another gamepak once the trade is completed Kadabra will become Alakazam have the other gamepak give the Alakazam back to your gamepak to receive the data on the pokemon.
