Save over it.
It's because of the save format on Visual Boy Advanced. FireRed uses Flash 128k, where as VBA usually uses Flash 64K. To fix this click Options>Emulator>Save Type>Click Flash 128K. Then restart your rom. Make sure to delete any old saves, since FireRed will still load the old save format.
If you have vba as your emulator go to options, then to emulator and then change the save type to Flash 128k. Next go back to options and emulator and turn on the real time clock(RTC) That will fix the 1m circuit bard. To save from the start menu, you also have to change the save type to SRAM. To use these new features, you have to restart the game and lose all your saved progress, but without this, you cannot play the postgame. You should also delete any save states that were not properly calibrated in the manner stated above.
If your using an Emulator, go to File > Save State (usually) and click 0 through 9. You can have up to 9 save spots, and can overwrite them freely. Remember to Load State when you start it up again, and click the data you want to play from.
First, open your Vba or visual boy advance emulator. Then, open Pokemon fire red.And go to options and click emulator, save type, instead flash 64 k click 128 k then go back to your game and reset the game or hot keys:ctrl+r finally you can save the game.
first you go in the options tab, then emulator, then save type, then change save type from automatic to EEPROM and then Flash 64 to 128 finally reset the emulator and your set.
find the file you designated to hold pokemon fire red files, each save should be numbered, right click and select delete. Done
go to Options->Emulator->Save Type->Flash 128K but if you have any save states you have to delete them. it depends on which emulator u play on ...VBA go to File: Import>Battery file>...then click on ur shiny gold game.......hope this helps
If you're playing Blue, Red or Yellow, set the change the memory save type before you start. Options >emulator > Save type >128K Flash and delete all your old save files.

Google it.
If you are using an emulator like VBA to play Pokemon Fire Red then you do not save as you normally do. You save using the emulator controls.

this is for the white screen 1) open your visual boy advance emulator 2) go to options 3) in the options menu go to emulator 4) on emulator go to save type 5) and finaly on save type chose the option Flash 128k. EDIT: apparently some roms don't work for it so you have to redownload them. i got Pokemon sapphire from www.romulation.net and it is a fail so just don't get THAT EXACT copy, you can still download all the other ones though
Check File, Edit, the stuff in the top left corner. Somewhere there should be a save. MAKE SURE you save to a save state file.
