According to Marriland Infernape(62 best Pokemon) is the best, then empoleon(65 best Pokemon), and finally torterra(73 best Pokemon). Personally, they are all good to me. I started with chimchar and got all the starters, so I would know which starters are good .
Watch this:
Infernape(fire fight) : can kill torterra with fire type attacks and kill empoleon with fighting type attacks, or since empoleon is a water steel type, and steel is weak to fire, fire can also do quite a bit of damage.
Empoleon( water steel): can take out infernape with water type moves, and take out torterra with steel/ice type moves.
Torterra(grass ground): take out infernape with ground type moves and empoleon with grass type moves.
So once they all evolve, they can take out each other.
You know what, start with chimchar and trade some other Pokemon for a piplup and a turtwig.
