I met my Spearow in the Pokéwalker, but early on you can find 1 on route 29 with an about 30% encounter rate.

Out of all of the available flying types, Crobat has the best speed and can learn a variety of moves such as Poison Fang, Heat Wave (Battle Frontier move tutor), Sky Attack (Battle Frontier Move Tutor), Cross Poison (Move Tutor) and U-Turn (TM). Crobat boasts a high Attack and Defence stat, as well as the stupendously high Speed stat I mentioned before.
Honchkrow is also good, but lacks speed but in return learns moves such as Dark Pulse, Sky Attack, Steel Wing (TM). It has a very high Special Attack stat and an average HP stat.
