Try the following steps...
1 - Check the batteries - low batteries make it hard to sync
2 - Try to sync at the Channel Select screen before you start to play
3 - If there is another USB device plugged into the Wii, unplug that device and try again.
good luck!
I struggled with this same problem for 2 days. Batteries changed, followed the directions through time and again--but no luck. I couldn't get past the "sync" screens in the actual game and the website had no other solutions. I finally decided to try "syncing" without the skylanders game in the console. I had my child play another game. I pressed the button on he USB plug and it stayed solid red light, then I pressed the power button on the portal and it stayed solid red light. We then switched the discs in the console to the skylanders disc and reset the wii console and it has worked fine since. Hope this helps others that have had problems--I was ready to return the portal and USB to Activision.
turn wii off first sync the remote to the wii by pressing the ped sync button in the wii remote (next to the batterys) and the second red sync button next to the sd card slot. then power wii up insert game and go to disk channel launch game and press A during the wrist strap warning or the black ops intro. should work
you just press the sync button on both wii remote and the wii itself at same time
To connect the Wii Fit Balance Board, you first need to make sure that you have four Double A batteries. Go onto Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus and it should ask you to sync the board. Open the battery compartment on the board and open the SD card slot on the Wii. Press Sync (the red buttons) on both of them until they recognize each other (it will say on the screen). Eventually it will ask you to press the power button on the Wii board. Press power on the front of the board, and it is then connected. Hope I was able to help!
No Portal 2 is for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
All Skylander figures are compatible with any of the available platforms, so any Skylander figure you find will work on your Wii version of the game. Only the game software and the Portal of Power are specific to particular platforms, meaning you'd need the Wii version of the game and the Portal of Power in order to play the game on your Wii. I should probably mention that you can plug in ANY version of the Portal of Power to a USB port on your PC in order to use it with the free-to-play Skylanders: Spyro's Universe game; although there may be a driver install process that you'd need to create an account for. See the related link.
Yes of course, I play muliplayer on my wii and sometimes play both giant characters. As long as it senses the barcode of the character then yes.
Skylanders figures are universal. Any figure will work on any console platform
No, due to the way the consoles sync with the portals, they are mostly incompatible. The 3DS variant only works for the 3DS. The XBox 360 version only works on the XBox 360. But the Wii and the PS3 can use each other's portal, they are compatible with either.
In order to play the mod Portal: Prelude, you do need to have Portal.

All you have to do is press the power button and some other $hit
Either go to your wii and open up the slot at the front and click th SYNC button or, open up the back of your wii remote and Click that sync button.
You can sync your wiimotes to your wii by pressing the red sync button on the wiimote and the wii, one after another. sync button on the wiimote is under the battery flap. sync button on the wii is in the small flap where you find the SD card slot. syncing your wiimotes means you don't have to wait as long to connect to your wii to play, and you can also turn the wii on using the wiimote.
