You can fight the Super Scarab, but you cannot play as the super scarab. You can only play as a normal scarab as a covenant. However, on the level beachead, if you go to the flood-infested area, you can have a sparatn hijack a unmanned scarab. This Scarab is labeled as "Super Scarab", but that is a error By Ensemble studios in scripting, because the unmanned Scarab is the same as a regular scarab, if not weaker. At the start of the second last mission 'Pillar of Autumn' Carter is wounded from a banshee attack while he was driving a pelican. He drops off Noble six and Emile to complete their mission while Carter tries to attract as much attention in the skies as possible. At one point Noble Six and Emile encounter a Scarab, they offer take down the Scarab but Carter decides to ram his war torn pelican into the Scarab in an attempt to destroy it. He rams his pelican into the Scarab and inevitably dies destroying the scarab in the process.
