Time has provided an actual answer the PS2 is still around and the Xbox now is short for the Xbox 360 more often when someone is talking about an Xbox. The Many PS2 games are cheap and while there are only a few new titles there are many games in new and like new condition and the Game Variety choices are the best of any system. The PS3 is better, but the PS2 is much cheaper for those on a budget and complete systems might be purchased for the price of a couple PS3 games
Well that's a toss up. If you're idea of a realistic environment is amazing texture and dramatic lighting, then you should go with the PlayStation 2. But if you think that the lighting is the most important aspect to a clear environment, then I would suggest the XBOX. If you're asking about the regular XBOX though, games have virtually stopped being produced for it, the PS2 is still getting new games. Another benifit of the XBOX over the PS2 is that you don't have to buy memory cards to store game information. What you would think as a small cost, can add up eventually. Another benefit of the regular XBOX is that it comes with four controller inputs, the PS2 only comes with two, so if you wanted more controllers connected you would have to buy an expander. I personally prefer the XBOX over the PS2.
