A "modded console" is a gaming console that has been modified to fit user's needs. A user may soder micro chips to the hardware, or "soft mod" without adding additional equipment to the console. The modded stands for modified. Users do this so they can cheat, download games to the console, play burned Video Games, or simply just to broaden the way to use their gaming console. Also if you mod your console the Xbox Live Policy Enforcement Team will issue a console ban (which will not let you play on that console anymore).

The old Xbox 360 consoles' hard drive work on all consoles even if not the one bought with , somehow the new slim Xbox 360 has a new hard drive model which only works on it If your console got banned for modifying so does your HDD and it won't work on other modded consoles , it will only work on clean consoles and it won't work again with modded original console as soon as it get connected an clean one

You would need to have a "modded" console a.k.a "chipped" These chips can be expensive when consoles first come out, but being that the PS2 has been out for awhile you can probably find them cheap. Modding or chipping a console requires you to open up said console which voids the warranty. Many different chips are available, some you have to solder others are solder less.
