it ispossible i have Pokemon platinum on my R4 and i migrated Pokemon from Pokemon ruby and it worked but first u need the pal pad you can get that when you have finished the sinnoh pokedex.

To find out your Friend code in Pokemon Pe/Da/Pl, you need to get a pal pad first. You get the Pal Pad from the bottom floor of the Pokemon Center (Wi-Fi Club) after getting at least one gym badge. The Pal Pad basically shows you all of your friends that you have made through Wi-Fi (or wirelessly). You can then connect with them (if they are online) by using the Pal Pad.
