it ispossible i have Pokemon platinum on my R4 and i migrated Pokemon from Pokemon ruby and it worked but first u need the pal pad you can get that when you have finished the sinnoh pokedex.

And if you have Pokemon diamond pearl or platinum, you have to beat the game and get all Pokemon in your pokedex. when you see all sinnoh Pokemon, you get a national pokedex.go to sandgem town, surf in the water and walk to the eastern part of the land to get to pal park. when there, save the game and turn off power. make sure that you have the gameboy game and the ds game in both slots and that they're working. when you press start on Pokemon diamond's main screen, go down to migrate Pokemon from which gameboy game you have, (ruby, sapphire, emerald, fire-red or leaf-green)and pick the six Pokemon you want to migrate to the ds game. after you pick all six, open your game file from where you were and talk to the worker to participate in the catching show. trust me.

How do you get Pokemon FireRed Pokemon on to pearl?
To get Pokemon from Fire red onto Pearl you must migrate them! To migrate Pokemon you must insert Fire red into the GBA slot of your Nintendo and Pearl into the DS slot, once you have done that you must turn on your Nintendo and start up Pokemon Pearl. Once you come to the menu, (the following should appear: "Continue", "New game", "Migrate from Fire red" and "Nintendo WFC settings") click on "Migrate from Fire red" and just agree with the questions. Then the screen will show your PC boxes on Fire red, you must select 6 Pokemon you wish to migrate and after you have chosen 6, it will say: "Do you want these Pokemon to migrate?" click "yes" and it should hopefully say: "These 6 Pokemon have safely migrated to Pokemon Pearl. After this it should return to the menu start up your saved file and fly to the Pal park, (if you have not already been there then you must surf, from Sandgem town.) Once you have arrived go up to the man at the desk, he will give you six park balls to catch your six Pokemon with. He will then let you in the park! Search in long grass and water, (depending on what Pokemon you migrate depends on where you will find them in the Pal park!) The park balls catch a Pokemon without fail so don't worry about them breaking out! Once you have caught all six you will come out and the six Pokemon will be placed in one of your boxes in your PC. P.S Once you migrate Pokemon you CANNOT migrate them back! Also you can only migrate six a day.

Once you've done that, open up your GBA (Game Boy Adavanced) and on the screen when you have to choose either your saved file(your game), "new game" and sometimes even the mystery gift option (if you have it), there should be a new option that's says migrate from pokemon____ to Pokemon _______. (Or whatever it says, not completely sure but something like that.) And voila! You can now migrate Pokemon from Pokemon ____ to Pokemon ____. You have to migrate six Pokemon each time you choose to migrate. In Pokemon diamond or pearl, there is something called "Pal Park" (I'm pretty sure). You go into Pal park and you can catch your migrated Pokemon in there. One thing though is that I think you have to have the National Pokedex before you can enter Pal Park. (:
