In The Witcher 1, there are 3 meteorite ores that are red, yellow and blue. The first red one can be found in several locations including the Mage's tower in chapter II. Red and blue are commonly sold by traders and blacksmiths in each chapter too. Yellow is the rarest, getting one as early as chapter II requires killing Ramsmeat, who is unpleasant but innocent in the investigation. The easiest places are the Order, or Scoia'tel quartermasters in chapter V.
Buck has a large variety of pokemon, for the full listing see the related link.
After you speak with Buck and he says he will put the Magma Stone back, you will next see him in the Battle Tower. If you select the Multi Battle option, Buck will be one of the trainers you can team up with.
