Excessively yes, as they should get out and play in the mud and do other things as well. In support of playing pokemon; however, you'd be surprised at how it can aid their cognitive development since it will require them to utilise skills such as mathematics, spatial awareness, fine motor skills and co-operation with others. It will also have them set goals and work towards achieving them. These are life skills and they are important.
Kids should be allowed to play simply because they are kids and playing is part of being a kid.

Whether it's okay for a Christian to play Pokémon games is ultimately a matter of personal conviction and denominational beliefs. The Bible does not mention Pokémon specifically, so Christians often reach different conclusions. Some Christians believe it is acceptable because: Pokémon is a fictional game focused on exploration, strategy, and collecting creatures. They see it as harmless entertainment when played in moderation. They distinguish fantasy from real-world spiritual practices. Other Christians choose to avoid Pokémon because: The games include fictional elements such as psychic powers, ghosts, and evolution, which some feel are inconsistent with their beliefs. Some are concerned that any media involving supernatural themes could conflict with biblical teachings. Many Christians use principles such as those found in Philippians 4:8 (thinking about what is true, honorable, and pure) and 1 Corinthians 10:31 (doing everything for God's glory) to guide their decisions. If playing Pokémon causes you to feel that it conflicts with your faith or conscience, it may be wise to avoid it. If you can enjoy it as fictional entertainment without it affecting your beliefs or behavior, many Christians see no problem with it. Different churches and individual believers come to different conclusions, so there is no single Christian position on the matter.
