Go to the abandoned ship which is east of Dewford town (or West of Slateport). You will need surf and dive. When you reach the abandoned ship, go inside, head downstairs, then enter the bottom middle room. In here, there is a diving spot. Dive underwater, then go along the hallway until you reach a big hole in the wall. Go through, then use dive to go back to the surface. Find the door that isn't locked and go inside. In each of these rooms, there will be a key to another room. If you don't see the initial "shine" indicating where the key is, use your itemfinder. The scanner is in room 2. Show the scanner to Captain Stern in Slateport near the SS Tidal, and he will allow you to choose either the Deepseatooth or Deepseascale. Each one evolves Clampearl to either Huntail (tooth) or gorebyss (scale) when traded. Good luck!
