No tribute summon is a normal summon. It's called tribute because you have to pay the cost of the summon by sending 1 (for LV5 or LV6) or 2 (LV7+) monsters from the field to the graveyard.

So basically it's same as a normal summon for a lower level monster.

Can you tribute a monster on the same turn you played it in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Yes, there is nothing inherently within the tributing or summoning rules which would stop you from tributing a monster you summoned the same turn you summoned it. Obviously, due to the regular summon rules, you can not Tribute Summon the monster you just Normal Summoned on the same turn; it would count as two Normal Summons. But if the first summon was a Special Summon, you had used "Double Summon", or wanted to tribute it for an effect like "Enemy Controller", then it's totally fine to tribute that monster for them.

Can you Tribute Summon using tokens in Yu-Gi-Oh?

It all depends on the tokens being used. They can be used to Tribute Summon unless said otherwise on the card. For example, the card "Scapegoat" says: "...The tokens [summoned by this card] cannot be used as a Tribute for a Tribute Summon."Take note of this last condition (a Tribute for a Tribute Summon). That means the tokens can be tributed for a Special Summon for monsters such as "Destiny Hero - Plasma".Tokens that can be used for a Tribute Summon include: "Stray Lambs", "Statue of the Wicked", "Fiend's Sanctuary", and "Dandylion".

Can you tribute on the same turn as you summon a monster in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Yes, you can tribute monsters for card effects and Tribute Summon the same turn you summon a monster. However, you cannot Normal Summon a monster and Tribute Summon on the same turn because you can only Normal Summon once per turn. Cards such as Double Summon and Ultimate Offering will let you do that.

What does advance summon mean in Yu-Gi-Oh?

An 'advance summon' is the Japanese OCG term for what the English TCG calls a 'Tribute Summon'.

Can you activate Torrential Tribute when a player sets a monster in Yu-Gi-Oh?

If a monster is set you cannot activate it. "Torrential Tribute" can only activate when any player performs a flip summon, normal summon, Ritual summon, Fusion summon or Special summon, but a set is different from a summon so you cannot activate "Torrential Tribute". The same applies to other cards that activate when a monster is summoned (like "Bottomless Trap Hole" and "Solemn Judgment").

In Yu-Gi-Oh can you tribute two monsters to summon 'Exxod Master of the Guard'?

No, it's all explained on his card. He cannot be Normal Summoned or Set (a Tribute Summon is a kind of Normal Summon) and to Special Summon him, you must tribute a Sphinx monster.

In Yu-Gi-Oh if you summon a monster can you tribute that monster the same turn?

Yes, just as long as you remember you are allowed only one Normal Summon per turn, and a tribute summon is a Normal Summon. So you could Special Summon a monster and tribute it for example. Also, you are free to tribute it as a cost for cards like Enemy Controller.

Can you tribute a monster on the same turn you played it in Yu Gi Oh?

Yes, nothing stops you doing that. But of course since you're limited to one normal summon per turn, you can't normal summon a monster and then tribute it for a tribute summon. But you're free to tribute it for the cost of an effect or a special summon.

In the card game Yu-Gi-Oh is a Special Summon and Synchro Summon the same thing?

Somewhat, yes. A synchro does not count for you Normal Summon for the turn. This means that you can do multiple Synchro summons in one turn. But if you are implying that a Synchro Summon can be usd for a card effect triggerd by or that needs a special summon, then a Synchro summon will not count. ^That's a bit vague. Synchro Summons will most certainly trigger/count towards effects that look for Special Summons - case in point, Bottomless Trap Hole, which can respond to a Synchro Summon because it is a kind of Special Summon. Special Summon is the default, and then you have special types, like Fusion Summon and Synchro Summon. Anything that looks for a Special Summon, will trigger from any of those. However if it only triggers from a Synchro Summon, then only a Synchro Summon will do, not a regular Special Summon.

Does Archlord Kristya prevent the special summoning of Master Hyperion if you were to banish Archlord Kristya in order to summon Hyperion in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Yes. Since you can't special summon, you can't even begin to initiate any kind of special summon. That means assuming a special summon card has a cost of tributing/banishing one monster, you could not use Kristya as that cost. Even if the summon does not use the chain, it is still not possible to tribute/banish Kristya. So the opponent could not tribute your Kristya for his Lava Golem.
