#2: Un-check the Enable Aging button.
Or if you just wanna make their lives last longer, you can just slide up the Sim Lifespan Bar to Epic. That way they'll live for 960 days.

You haven't mentioned which console your using, but... for ps3 and xbox 360 i know that you go to menu, game menu and then un-tick "aging" for wii, i haven't found out how yet - i don't think it's possible. as for PC, I'm not sure hope this helped (:
