it takes up about 2 gigabytes of space.
All of the sims take alot of room- sims 1 128 mb of memory, sims 2 512 mb of memory, sims 3 6.1 gb of hard drive. The only one you could physically download online is sims 1 (it is not as good as the others at all) and you would still have to pay around £10.
My sims 2 crashesALL the time, but there's a way to make it crash less frequently. The problem is caused probably because the sims 2 takes so much space on your hard drive, and if you play it for too long the hard drive becomes overwhelmed, and the sims 2 crashes. To avoid it crashing, you should probably get rid of some space on your hard drive, so your sims 2 game will have space to save your familys that you make. (for a PC you do this by going to control panel then to add or remove programs. From there, get rid of unwanted things taking up your hard drive space.) You could also try playing it less frequently. So instead of keeping it on for a long period of time, only play it for small amounts of time. Lollyduncs' view: Yes, but it could be if she/he are downloading alot of things, if he/she is downloading lots of things, then you need to take your downloads folder out and put it on your desktop, by drag and drop, and then load your game, if it runs fine, then something in your downloads has a problem, if that happens, i reccomened deleting ALL downloads, and downloading it all again, upto the 5 downloads you downloaded before loading the game, my game crashes alot to, right now, i went into accesories, in the start menu of my comp, and system tools, disk defragmenter, this should do something and it will help your computer run faster to. Just helping. If none of that helps, then I'm sorry. :)

it depends on how much space is on the hard drive, but the sims 2 seasons won't wreck the computer because during the installation or playing the game, a pop-up will come saying there is no more space.
Drive space usage is how much memory used from the total hard drive space. It's basically how many stuff you put into a hard drive compartment.

I own Sims 3 and on the reverse side of the case it states that it needs 7.1GB Hard Drive space to run efficiently, but i tried it on my laptop and if you want it to load faster i suggest having about 8GB free space.
