When your sim has finished the previous activity - the game will automatically save and you have to pick 4 new traits and from the traits a lifetime wish. However the lifetime wish choices are limited depending on the traits you choose. This is kind of annoying when you know which lifetime wish you want but can't find the right combination of traits.
