How many Pokemon are in Pokemon FireRed?

FireRed & LeafGreen are part of Generation III, which means all Pokémon from Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn can be obtained.

Isn't it just 250 Pokemon that can be owned in firered? (season I's Pokemon No. 1-150 + season II's Pokemon No. 151-250). Ah, never mind me, I just read that FireRed is actually a part of the generation III games, where an additional 135 Pokemon is included (No. 251-386).

THERES ACTUALLY 483 POKEMON TO BE FOUND(there isnt 483 pokemon to be found until the 4th generation, there is only 386 in firered because it's part of generation 3, so only pokemon from the first 3 regions are possible to obtain)

No. There are 150 Pokemon in the beginning, but as you progress, you get to update your pokedex into a Nationaldex, and it'll keep record of 250 Pokemon. (You may catch new Pokemon at the islands etc.).
The regular pokedex will record a total of 151 species in the Kanto region and these are Kanto exclusive meaning it will not record any other species from any other region.

Once the regular pokedex is upgraded to the national mode later in the game this will allow the pokedex to record pokemon from other regions which are Johto and Hoenn.

An example is this: Charizard is a Kanto pokemon while Slugma is a Johto pokemon and Nincada is a Hoenn pokemon.

Unfortunately for Firered and Leafgreen it is impossible to capture any of the Hoenn species it is required to have Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald trade those species to those games.

Same with Johto only various species here and there can be obtained throughout the Sevii Islands (The Seven Islands) that can be reached later on in the game.

Nah, not entirely true, since there's 250 when you advance in the game. In the beginning, there's 150 Pokemon, but when you upgrade your pokedex to a National pokedex (after you've beaten the elite four), you can catch up to 250 Pokemon (there are new ones on the new islands 4,5,6,7).
