You can pictochat up to 65 feet away from one another. It goes this far on DS, DS Lite, and DSI. Not 3DS. Wich sucks. Ihave a 3DS and cant pictochat,but Can communicate with SWAPNOTE!

All versions of the Nintendo DS use wi-fi to connect to other DS's in range. As with most other wi-fi devices, the range is around up to 50 meters, but it can work further depending on interference and if anything is in the way.
As far as I know, Nintendo DS does not have sleep mode.

according to wikipedia, the Nintendo dsi will be realeased in the spring of 2009. not too far off i hope, I'm waiting, cant wait to have a camera on a ds!
DSi and Wii points were merged together into Nintendo Points, so in theory a DSi points card should work on a Wii, depends how old the card is.

Your going to have to call Nintendo Support and they will ship you a label to send in your DSi to get it fixed. As far as I'm concerned there is no fees and once you do this your warranty is renewed.
as far as I understand it is the same thing. ds lite is the short way of saying Nintendo ds lite.
