Also if your sim tries to fix an electrical appliance it could be elecrocuted. The chances of this happening increase if the sim is 'clumsy'.

What are all 23 ways to kill sims in The Sims 3?
The main ways are Fire, Drowning, Electrocution, Old Age and Starvation. With Sims 3 World Adventures, a sim can get the mummy's curse and die from that. Babies, Toddlers and children can't be starved, die of old age or be electrocuted. If you try to starve them the Social Worker will come and just take them away. Babies, Toddlers and Children can't repair things, so they can't be electrocuted.
