If you mean the green power light, perhaps the yellow/red standby light blew out? If you're referring to the blue light in the disc tray, you can turn this off and on in your Wii settings. >Wii Settings >second page> WiiConnect24 >Slot Illumination Bright, Dim or Off
Turn on the Wii and open the case on the back of the 2nd Wii remote and you will find a red button that says sync. Then open the little door on the front of your Wii,and you will find another red button. Press the red sync button on both the Wii and Wii remote at the same time. After all that, the 2nd light on the 2nd Wii remote should light up blue
It means it is charging.
My Wii works fine. If your Wii won't turn on and there's no power light then it's probably not plugged in properly or the power is out. If the power light is green then the Wii is already on. If the power light is red or yellow, try unplugging it and then plugging it back in.
The light on the dual charger will turn green. When it is charging the light is red.

Well, why would you want it to? An orange light means the Wii console is off, but WiiConnect24 is still on and working. If the light is red, the Wii console is off, but WiiConnect24 is off or not working properly. And, duh! I bet you already knew this but green or blue light means Wii is on. I think you would prefer the orange light. but if you really wanna know... Go to setting on your Wii and turn off WiiConnect24. That's how you get it to go red, but I'm warning that's not a good thing.
Once your Wii is hooked up to the internet go under Wii options and find WiiConnect24 in your internet options turn it on and it will ask what light do you want your Wii to use Dim or Bright, see when your wii updates using wiiconnect24 the disc part of the wii will start turning blue and flashing this is the wii telling you that the wii is currently receiving some kind of update you can find the update on your message board usually.
Your wii is on standby if it has internet connection it will glow a yellow light on the power button if you have turned on WIICONNECT24 then the disc slot will glow blue when your wii is receiving an update turn your wii on and check your wii message board it will bring up a message showing what your wii just received either a message, a gift from a wii friend, or updates from the Nintendo channel and check mii out channel if you have those channels and have chosen to receive updates.
It means it is charging.
That is good. It means that you did "turn off" your Wii. Yellow is more of a suspend or sleep mode. By holding in the power button a bit longer, the Wii will power down. it also means than your wii connect 24 is now off so the red light will always be on unless you put your wii connect 24 back on so here it is YELLOW LIGHT= WII CONNECT 24 IS ON RED LIGHT= WII CONNECT 24 IS OFF GREEN LIGHT = WII IS ON
to show that the wii is completely off
Wii connect 24 is a service that makes your wii look for updates and other internet information such as news channel updates or messages sent by friends. To activate this option, you must enter on wi menu, then wii settings and WiiConnect24 (you have to setup your internet connection first). You may also turn it off on the same option. You will notice that your WiiConnect24 is working because the wii LED changes to yellow when is turned off, you can turn off temporally your wiiconnect24 by pressing and hold the power button until it turns red. Wii connect24 will activate again when you turn on your wii. When this option is active, the wii heats because is still working but the internal cooling system is not, and the life of your wii may reduce, so I suggest you to turn it off, anyway, when you're playing, the wii automatically looks for updates, so it is not really necessary.
