Whenever an enemy shoots, they will show up as a red dot. If your team has a Spy Plane then enemies show up like every second. If your team has a black bird then you see them as red triangles. This way you know where an enemy is and what direction they're facing.
Another way to see where enemies are is to follow your teammates. Also, when your teammate dies (or leave the game) their green triangle disappears from the map. It's likely that an enemy is near where they were.
