Treyarch recently got into a deal with Sony. From now on, people who hack or mod games on Black Ops or other Call of Duty titles will be banned from the game (as usual) - but Treyarch will also pass your details onto Sony Entertainment Network Security Team as part of the new deal, because Treyarch are rewarded financially by Sony for every hacker/modder they report. Sony will then block the person entirely from the Network and insert a cookie that cannot be deleted into your Playstation system which wipes out all of your achievements and blocks your console from ever connecting to any Playstation network. To get around this type of ban, you'll have to buy a completely new playstation console.
Being banned by Sony is expensive.
