Flax can be found in various places in members-only areas. Flax plants can be found:

  • In Taverley flower patches, they are hard to see, but there are at least 2 plants in every patch.
  • In the Tree Gnome Stronghold (there is a bank in the middle of several flax plants).
  • South of Seers' Village, there are a lot of plants in a reasonably small area. (best place for beginners)
  • Just south of the bank in Lletya (closest to a bank, but difficult to get to)
  • South of Relleka, near the Fenris wolves
  • On Lunar Isle

Use flax on a spinning wheel to turn it into bowstring

The most commonly-used spinning wheel is on the first floor(second floor for Americans) of Lumbridge Castle because of its proximity to the bank one story above, as well as a nearby sheep field. However, Lumbridge is not close to any flax plants.

Some players teleport to the Lletya flax field, which is the closest flax field to a bank. After banking a large amount of flax, using the Lumbridge Home Teleport or Lumbridge Teleport spell gives access to spinning wheels. Because of the many blocking objects such as gates, the wheel in Lletya is actually much more time consuming to get to from the bank, which explains why it is hardly used.

Second choice is Seers' Village and the Tree Gnome Stronghold, due to the close distance between the spinning wheels and banks. Also, both spinning wheels are located near flax. (one of the best spots for beginners)
