that all depends on which Animal Crossing you're playing. if you're playing the Gamecube animal crossing, then you're going to need to run GCNrd, and know a little bit about Hex editing. here's what you need for that.

Gamecube Broadband Adapter

Phatasy Star Online Episodes 1&2 (not the plus version)

an ethernet port on your PC that's not in use

Cat5 Crossover Cable

once you have that, snoop arround the net for GCNrd, and GCNRDGUI. unzip GCNrd into the same folder as GCNRDGUI. the internet holds the other answers.

as for Wild World, all you need is an Action Replay DS. they're fairly cheap. but what you also need, is precision. there is a map editing program, and it's very powerfull. it will spit out an action replay code for you to put in and it will change your town, but the bad thing is, you must make sure you set your town up in the editor PERFECTLY. every weed, flower, tree, villager, you name it. do that first, use the snapshot feature, and then edit the town to your hearts content. if you ever use it again, you must edit the town to rematch any changes that might have taken place such as flowers trees weeds and villagers. i personaly don't trust it, but you asked, and i answered. also, it's on some place called aibohack, so search for that.
