If there is no patch, get a better video card (not sufficient amount of RAM and weak CPU can cause it too).

soilder front is programmed by nooblets working for ijji. it is a super duper well known fact that psp file sharing is a huge stress load on the computer. file sharing uses a portion( really huge in sf case) to cache information before sending it. in other words soilderfront is reading and sending information of your harddrive while you are playing it. its just ijji's way of reducing upkeep. yes its multi threading and it lags CPU. especially the duo cores. ive tested 3 variants of cpus single, duo, and quad cores. it seems like soilderfront lacks the ability to share the CPU load with the other core or cores. another note is that it hogs all level 2 cache(the expensive stuff on the CPU).
