First of all, open your inventory. Make sure a sim isn't using the item you want to move. Press on the item you want to move so that the bottom turns green, then drag it to your inventory.
when you have the nectar in your inventory, just click and drag it into the rack.
If you have a beetle or butterfly in your Sims inventory, simply drag it to a table, counter, etc and it will automatically be put in a tank.
They are in your Family Inventory.
You go to there inventory and click on the phone. Then you click on the move option.

In buy mode, next to the main selection/buying, there are four optons: Sort by room, sort by function, Family inventory, and collections. Click on family inventory and drag the objects out onto your lot.
In Sims 2 you must have used a cheat or something, so you need to do that cheat on Sims 3.

In Sims 3 for PC you go to your inventory and click on the phone were you will get services as an option.
go get a book and look it should be located in the in the case of Sims 3
Buy an apple from the supermarket and then it will be in the sims inventory, click on it and there will be an option to 'eat'.
It will be in the sim's inventory.
