Well? do you mean to say that the server is a runescape private server and its encrypted when you try to change it... if so i have the same problem. yes that's right.
your mum is the best rsps ever of all time of all time!
A question like this is best asked on a private server site, where your more likely to get quicker reply from someone who knows. I'm creating a private server with my friend and you need a client and a source that will work together for your weapon.
I belive you are talking about a runescape private server? if so you can go to http://www.moparscape.org/smf and click 'Server Downloads' and then it will have a list of clients and sources. Whats the difference between a client and source? [Client] - You use a client to connect to the source/server, without a client you cannot play the private server/game. [Source/Server] - This is the actual game, this is what you run the server off, and this supplies all of the characters info, and also other things you would like to change. I hope this helps you out, goodluck.
Well, no Using a Runescape private server is not illegal at all, if you do make one it is illegal and Jagex will probably not put you in jail, just a hefty fine for copyright infringement, using a private server on the other hand is perfectly okay and many people use it, Source: Administrate 1 small ( 10 members server) and one big (190) member servers, and i play on plenty more of them. Also, using a private server is not even against the rules of Runescape, you can use one but they suggest you use their server. Now to answer your question, they can really be anywhere, on my servers they are usually under Varrock west bank or somewhere in a cage in the wilderness, if i were you don't try to get jailed, but ask an admin to show you the jail, hopefully they will understand you're just curious and let you explore it for a couple of minutes if you want.-WRONG ANSWER- Listen now... RuneScape Private Servers are ILLEGAL. If you get caught using one, Jagex may choose to procecute!! In other words, You will get in serious trouble if you use them, and it could be more than just a ban!

well they were stoped at the corner and got killed by mom and dad haha
A dedicated server is a server that is soley dedicated to a company and not shared by any other outside source. I think it should be something every company considers because it will help to keep information secure and private.
Private Servers are just run off someones computer where RuneScape servers are dedicated servers with 24/7 up time. The screen goes black because the source code was stolen from RuneScape and is not fully functional, there are many glitches in private servers making them not worth the effort.
