To mine diamond you want to use a Iron Pickaxe. Gold will just break the break it and so will cobblestone ("break" as in it will break the block but no diamonds will be given).1. To find diamond('s) dig to bed rock, 2. then go up about 9 block above that. 3. Now dig about 6x6 in the area your in. 4. Then dig a tunnel 30 blocks in length, 5. now go back to your 6x6 are go 2 blocks over and go 30 more. 6. keep doing that until you have exhausted the area. 7. Now go up 2 blocks and start over from part 3. Happy Diamond hunting!
