To find your server's IP, all you have to do is go to Google and search "IP".It should say: "Your public IP address is..."This is what your friends should put in to connect to your server.If you want to connect your server, you can also enter your routers IP: "192.168..." or "localhost"
firstly find the IP for a server you'd like to join. secondly load up minecraft and click on the multiplayer menu. either go into direct connect or add server, for direct connect simply enter the IP of the server into the prompted box and press connect. however if you'd like to join the server again then press "add sever" name the server then enter the IP and then it will be saved for use later on.

You just need to get the server IP, then on your minecraft main menu go to Multiplayer>Direct Connect And enter the IP Check out the official minecraft forums for server ips depending on the type of server you want to play on.
To join a minecraft sever, click 'Muliplayer'. Then 'Add server' Give it a name. Then enter the IP ! Note: Direct connect is for simply joinning a server without adding a name and its IP to your list. The IP is remembered for the laster server you visited through direct connect when you exit Minecraft.
make sure the server ip is correct if so you can try to add it to favorites by copy and pasting the IP address if not you can try to pull down consol (`) and type in Connect (space) IP address of the server and hit enter. Come on this server : forid-server.dyndns.org:27019

To connect to any Minecraft server you have to know and input their IP address when it prompts you.
do you mean search for an server using it's IP? answer: google find a servers IP? right-click the server, server properties or do you mean search for a users IP while on a server: can't unless you're the host.
