Sims will age up in The Sims 3. If you are currently playing as the sim to see when they are going to age up go to the plumbob next to inventories then hover you cursor over the green bar. To make your sim age up either buy a birthday cake from the grocery store or from buy mode, categories, entertainment, parties, cake or you can go to the 3 dots above your sims head, click on options, go to the plumbob shape and adjust the age your sim has to be to age up. You can also use a cheat, press down control shift c. Type in testingcheatsenabled true then press enter. Hold down shift and click on the sim you want to age up. Click on trigger age transaction.
