One mod installer there is, and the most famous one by the way, is MCpatcher. But it only allows you to install things like TMI and modloader, but it also makes your minecraft compatible with HD textures. Another famous one is nitrous, and this one also works to put GLSL shaders in your minecraft (super HD graphics card required, though). To run it, simply install it in your computer, and open it. It will tell you to browse for your minecraft jar file (WARNING: this must be a jar file, and not any other kind of file). When you locate your jar, (in your bin folder where it always is...) you have to open it with the installer, (some installers, like the zombe mod installer, locate the jar on their own, so try to look for one that does that for the easiest installing) and then select the mods you would like to install. Some installers require that you select mods that you have already downloaded to your computer, and others bring their own mods (again, like the zombe mod one). When they are done installing, sit back and enjoy playing minecraft with your brand new mods!
Note that some big mods can't be installed through installers, and you have to install them by hand, there are many YouTube tutorials on how to do this, though, so you'll be fine.
every mod
Which mod?!?!?! It all depends on the mod. Lots of mods are different to install. The easiest mod to instal is the Technic pack. Just install, then run. Easy. just go to technicpack.com
No. I use that mod and I don't have mod loader.
It is a mod for minecraft that is required for some modifications to run properly.

Depends on the mod. Either you mod folder in Run>%appdata%>.minecraft or they have to be installed into the minecrat.jar file itself. Check the mod details of whatever mod you're downloading.
It is easier to run minecraft because minecraft does not require much graphics rendering. Garys mod is run using steam and most steam games have heavy graphic needs.

I think TFC's mod manager can run on the pc, but that's all that i know
To INSTALL a mod, you go to run and type &APPDATA% and click .minecraft then bin and open minecraft.jar with winrar or 7zip. Then copy all the files from the unzipped mod folder into the minecraft.jar, and delete META-INF from inside the jar. Do all this with minecraft closed. Then close winrar or 7zip and run minecraft! You need the downloaded version to do this.
The same as a pc install it go to run do %appdata%/.minecraft/bin hazzah!

Mod Loader is the only mod that will allow your client to run more than one mod at once. It is very safe!
you have to go to start, click run, click your .minecraft folder, take the downloaded mod (it has to be zipped) click open archive, then with the .minecraft folder, you find bin go in, and open minecraft's archive, then you move the files in the mod archive folder to the minecraft archives. (some things might be wrong, but that's because i used pure memory to answer this, and i have a bad memory. )
