They cheapest best way to fix a broken PS2 is to find a PS2 or a PS2 system with games and accessories you might like and purchase it off a site like Ebay. Cost of parts labor and inspections make most fixes uneconomical when compared to the ease of replacement with a similar used console. You can even find complete systems for less than the $100 cost of a new PS2

If you unattached all the screws by taking off the squares you'll see that the power cord attached to the power outlet is not attached to the ps2.All i can do for u guys now
For the PS2 is is cheaper to replace a used PS2 with a different used PS2 than to spend money repairing it. Doing it yourself would still require parts purchases for a console whose trade in value is often less than $20
From what I understand some PS2's just won't play them for some reason. I've had several people tell me that Therese won't play those kind of disk either. If you're PS2 wont play them, before trying to fix the problem you're probably better off buying a new PS2, or just not playing the purple games.
I have no idea, but I have the same problem. If you happen to figure it out. Please let me know first_squirrel@msn.com
Open your ps2 controller and make sure you know to remember where all the parts should be. If the problem is on the analog stick try cleaning it and if the problem is on the keys take all the components and check on website to see if the parts are in the right position.
