It is because not only it takes your life energy it can also destroy the 3 Egyptian God Cards and they can never be played in the duel again as long as this card remains.

Horakhty is the monster card that requires all three origonal egyption god cards to be tributed to speicaly summon it. When this effect is applyed, the player who summond that card wins the duel.

Since these cards don't target, they can destroy the God cards. (Unlike the TV show, the God cards can't automatically negate any attack or effect that can destroy them.)
