sadly no you can't because pearl is a newer version than sapphire. But you can do this thing called migrating. it is when you beat the elite four and go to this place where you can migrate. it is basicly trasfering your Pokemon to diamond or pearl and then you can transfer back so make clones of your Pokemon if you know how. so this is how it hope i helped you.
