Well, you can't really play AS him. There are two face camo items called Raiden A and Raiden B that you can acquire that make you look like him, though.

Who is raiden?
Raiden is the friend of Solid Snake. He used to be a ninja but after so many fights, he got injured and almost died. Solid Snake and his friends made it so he won't die, and what ended up happening was he was made into a cyborg somehow. The reason he lives after so many wounds in MGS4 is because he doesn't fear death at all... I wonder if that works in real life..haha
What happend to Raiden in the Metal Gear Solid series that turned in to a cyborg ninja like in Metal Gear Rising Revengeance?
Metal Gear Rising Revengance is the story of what happened too him. Actually MGRR is like 9 years after MGS4 if I remember correctly.
