no keldeo is a 5th generation pokemon it wont work on previous generations

You can, if it is not in its resolute form. this means you have gone to pledge grove, taught it secret sword, and its form has changed. in this case it is unable to be traded. But, if it is in its original form, then it can be transported out like any other generation 5 pokemon, hence the other guy being an idiot. you obtain the national pokedex, go to route 15, and transfer at the poke transfer lab.
