The Beatles were considered an American band because of their immense popularity and influence in the United States during the 1960s. Their music resonated with American audiences, leading to numerous chart-topping hits and sold-out concerts across the country. Additionally, their appearances on popular American television shows like The Ed Sullivan Show helped solidify their status as icons of American pop culture.

Oh,yes, and the world over. Most famous of all time!

they changed the way we think about music and rocknroll.

they changed the history of the world.

They changed music style the world over, made people try harder with their music, especialy their lyrics. They influenced eveything from fashion to facial hair, and the influence is still being felt today. They were always one step ahead of every other bad in their musical innovation.
They set the stage for all of the American rock bands, by progressing the style of rock and roll. At first American was not partial to them, but after the song "I Want to Hold Your Hand" was released, America went through what was called Beatlemania (their crazy popularity).

It was a combination of factors; Ed Sullivan happened to be in Heathrow Airport when the Beatles returned from Sweden (there were a huge number of fans waiting for their arrival). Because of this, Sullivan knew about how big the band was in Europe.

There was a news story about the Beatles on American TV which boosted sales of I want to Hold Your Hand - which became number 1 in America before the Beatles arrived.

Because Ed Sullivan had heard of the Beatles he was willing to book the band.

The Beatles performance on Ed Sullivan was a triumph and they became even bigger.

Another factor in their success was their timing; President Kennedy had recently been assassinated and their was a hunger in a press for a "light" new story, it was also the time when the post war baby boomer generation were becoming teenagers - half the population were under 20, so they had a huge audience available.

They were also talented and skillful musicians, wrote good songs and were genuinely witty.

They were for a while. They were important because they were something new and something great. It was rock and roll back in their day, and they had just mastered it. However, the second time they went to America John Lennon stated that 'we are bigger than Jesus' and this kinda ticked the Americans off. Hope this helps!

In 1966, while in America, during an interview, John Lennon said that The Beatles were bigger than Jesus. To especially Christians, this was a shock. People started to boycott The Beatles, to the point of burning their Cd's in bonfires. Soon, John apologized. He said that what he meant by that statement was that The Beatles weren't bigger than Jesus, but might have meant more to kids at the time.

They weren't banned from the USA. There were attempts to deport John Lennon in the 1970s; these were unsuccessful.
