Because that's where Rue and Thresh were from. Rue was her ally in the games and was killed by a spear piercing her stomach and Rue reminds Katniss of her younger sister Prim. Thresh could have killed Katniss, but when he heard about what she did for Rue, he decided to let her go just once. But he was killed shortly thereafter, which made Katniss sad, for he saved her life

How might Katniss be responsible for the uprising in district 8?

Katniss is responsible for the uprising in District Eight because while it had been building and prepared long before Katniss won, the rebel citizens used her and Peeta's District Seven Victory Tour stop as an excuse to be all at the square, watching them, all at once, and then they started the uprising.

Katniss Everdeen goes hunting with her friend Gale and they talk about the "Reaping" to happen later that day. When she goes home she fixes dinner for her family and they go to the Reaping. Primrose Everdeen - Katniss's little sister - is chosen to enter The Hunger Games but so she won't get killed Katniss takes her place. The other person is chosen and it is Peeta Mellark, the boy who gave her bread after her father died (in a mine explosion many years earlier) and Katniss gets worried about killing him.

What did the Capitol do to Peeta Mellark Johanna and Beetee?

Peeta is captured by the capital, so that they can use him Katniss. They torture Peeta, and make him try to convince Katniss that a war is not a good idea, and that President Snow should still lead. The capital will go to any lengths of torturing Peeta, to break Katniss, and end the rebellion. Poor Peeta :(

Where does the Victory Tour usually begin in Catching Fire?

The way the Victory Tour works is that the tour begins in District 12 and then goes in descending order to District 1 and then the Capitol. But the winner's district is skipped and saved for last. Since Katniss and Peeta are from District 12, their Victory Tour began in District 11

Why is district 12 destroyed in Catching Fire?

Because the districts start rebelling due to katniss defying the games in the first book by making a suicide pact with peeta so that they could either die together or live together if two victors were allowed. This was the start of an uprising that swept across the districts and the Capitol blew up district 12 to show that they are still in charge and can not be defeated. And beacose Katniss broke the barier and provail the games and the winners start to make a bunt to the capitol into the games and from that kinde ot do is destroyed district 12 beacoase the capital wanna show that nothing can stop them

What happens in district 11 during Katniss's and Peeta's victory tour?

In district 11, a lot actually happens. Peeta decides to give Thresh's family and Rue's family a month of their winnings every year until Katniss and Peeta die. Then, Katniss says a couple words about Thresh and said a lot about Rue. After she talked about Rue an old man sang her four note tune that meant the workers could go home for the day. The tune was also used by Katniss and Rue when they were in the arena that meant they were safe. Once the man did that, the whole entire crowd in district 11 gave Katniss the three fingered sign that meant peace and harmony that Katniss gave to Rue when she died. When Peeta and Katniss left, the peacekeepers brang the man up on the stage and shot him. They also shot two other citizens but we dont know who. That is what happened in district 11.

How does Catching Fire start?

What is Catching Fire About?Catching Fire is the second book in The Hunger Games trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins. She also wrote the third book in the series, Mockingjay. Catching Fire is the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy, and its main focus for the first half of the book is the Victory Tour, in which Katniss realizes that even though she's won the Games, the Capitol still has control over her and she will never stop being just a 'piece of their games'. The story takes an abrupt twist when Katniss and Peeta are launched back into an arena with a strange similarities to a clock. This is because of the Quarter Quell. Every 25 years a change is made to the games. In the 3rd Quarter Quell, which is the 75th games, past victors must compete against each other until the death. Because of this Katniss and Peeta are put back into the games.

What is life in district one from hunger games like?

District 1 is one of the wealthiest districts of Panem. Its primary industry is manufacturing luxury items for the Capitol. Some of them include diamonds and most likely other precious gems. It seem that names in the district are names of precious items, which may be a reflection on their glamorous nature and demeanor. Children in District 1 almost always seem to take pride in competing in the Games, and are among the group of tributes that band to together to pick of the weak, called the Careers. On the victory tour, Katniss mentions that she feels awkward going into District 1, as she killed both of their tributes. Katniss also notes how their costumes are always the best and how ridiculous the district names are for their children.
