That is all you learn in that book, but there is more about the escape to be learned in the 3rd book.

Then, when Katniss and Peeta were both alive, they all of a sudden said that there could only be one winner, and neither wanted to kill the other and loose each other, so Katniss brought out poison berries, and they were both going to commit suicide.
