9 were given to kings of men - these rings corrupted the men and turned them into the black riders who come after Frodo in the Fellowship of the ring and the riders of the flying fell beasts in The Return of the King
7 were given to dwarves - these may have made them even greedier for precious metals but did not seem to corrupt them further
3 are given to elves - after discovering they are bad they hide them

There were originally over 40 rings made for the Lord of the Rings trilogy by Jens Hansen and his son after one design was chosen from fifteen, at the end of the films, one was given to Elijah Wood and one to Andy Serkis, while they were both told they each had the one ring... the others were supposedly destroyed and one is possibly still in the possesion of the original ring makers in New Zealend. Replicas of the rings used can be purchased from Jens Hansen online or in store.
Cymarron - RingsOthers have covered it, but Cymarron was the original.
The original publisher of The Lord of the Rings was George Allen & Unwin.
In the original series, no, there won't be another book, because the author (Tolkien) died, but there will probably be plenty more Lord of the Rings-related books by different authors. There cannot be any as the Tolkien estate tightly controls the copyright. However his son Christopher has edited and published many of his father's unfinished manuscripts of Elvish Mythology & History. The first being the Silmarillion.
The first installment, The Fellowship of the Ring, came to theaters in 2001. The Two Towers came later in 2002, and finally The Return of the King in 2003.
