Ginevra 'Ginny' Molly Weasley is Ron Weasley's younger sister. Ginny is the seventh and youngest child of Arthur and Molly Weasley, she is also their only daughter and the first female born into the Weasley family in several generations. Having her as the seventh daughter is significant because seven is a powerful number in the series.
Ginny is a Gryffindor student one year below Harry, Ron and Hermione. She is also Gryffindor Quidditch Seeker and Chaser and a member of Dumbledore's Army in the Order of the Phoenix. She had a crush on Harry from a young age, but eventually began dating other people on advice from Hermione Granger, her best friend.
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince she begins dating Harry for a short period of time before he breaks up with her to stop Lord Voldemort coming after her. They get back together at some point after the final battle and by 2017 are married with three children: James Sirius, Albus Severus and Lily Luna Potter.
