The name 'Jemima' is not used but you're probably thinking of "Imitation of Life" (1934). Stars Claudette Colbert, Warren William, Rochelle Hudson, Louise Beavers.

Of a 1950s-ish movie about a defense contractor and who becomes secretary of defense and his company is taken over by idiots?

It's set in the 1950s or late 40s. I want to say 1950 but I'm not positive. It's black and white and set in New York and DC (mostly NYC). The plot is that a very upstanding defense contractor leaves the company that he founded to serve his country by fixing the DOD. When he's gone the people left running his company are corrupt and incompetent. A woman who is either divorced or her husband died before the movie ends up with a few shares of stock in the company. She's bored so she starts going to stock holders meetings and bothering the people running the company. They give her a job answering mail from other small stock holders to keep her busy. When this fails they make her a lobbyist to DC. She falls in love with the company founder turned secretary of defense. They find out how corrupt the current company management is and they manage to take back over the company and then get married. I saw this movie a few years ago on TCM or some other classics channel and haven't been able to find it since. I've gone through imdb over and over and still can't find it. PLEASE HELP

When was Turner Classic Movies created?

In 1986, media mogul Ted Turner, purchased the majority of the MGM film and television library. Because of his debt load, he could not keep the MGM name and resold that and a number of other assets but he kept all of the MGM library of pre 1986 films and Warner Brothers pre 1950 library, all of the RKO library and some of the United Artists library. Turner started broadcasting the library on Turner Network Television (TNT) and began 'colorizing' some of the old black and white classics. That wasn't as popular as the company had hoped; upon hearing that Turner was planning to colorize 'Citizen Kane', Orson Wells is quoted as saying, "Tell Turner to keep his goddamned Crayolas away from my film!". On April 14, 1994, Turner Classic Movies debuted as a medium to show the MGM, UA, RKO and WB movies owned by Turner. In addition to showing these movies uninterrupted by commercials, in the intervening years TCM has added to their original library, the public can purchase copies of many of these classics from TCM, but they also work to preserve the original copies of the deteriorating old films in the library.

How many people died during the making Of Ben Hur?

Contrary to popular opinion on some websites no one died during the making of the 1959 version of the film starring Charlton Heston. Heston himself during an interview on TCM expressed his disbelief of stuntman Yakima Canutt's ability to defy death during the chariot scenes. However the making of the 1926 Ben Hur spurred rumors that an actor wearing armor drowned from it's weight when he jumped ship during a sea battle scene to avoid an out of control fire. It's doubtful there will be any confirmation to this rumor some 85+ years later.
